1 / Install and load
Neuroloom is a 64-bit Windows VST3 audio effect. It requires a 64-bit DAW that hosts VST3 effects. This release does not include AAX, so it does not load directly in Pro Tools; 32-bit and VST2-only hosts are also unsupported. Only DAW versions named in release notes as tested should be treated as validated.

- Download the installer above, then run
Neuroloom-0.3.1-Windows-x64-Setup.exe. - Choose a current-user install, or choose the machine-wide option and approve the Administrator prompt.
- Open FL Studio and choose Options → File settings → Manage plugins.
- Enable Verify plugins. After an update, also enable Rescan previously verified plugins.
- Click Find installed plugins. Neuroloom is classified as an effect.
- Open the Mixer, choose an empty effect slot, select More plugins…, and search for Neuroloom.

2 / One-minute quick start
- Put Neuroloom on a drum-loop Mixer insert.
- Select Broken maths from the preset menu.
- Leave Tempo on Project so Neuroloom follows the FL Studio project BPM.
- Set Dry / Wet near 60% so the original attack remains audible.
- Move Fracture while the track plays. Time Grid determines the repeat size.
- Raise Body Mix and sweep Body Pitch to find metallic tuned resonances.
- Add Instability gradually. Around 10–30% gives motion; high values intentionally become unpredictable.
3 / Interface and controls
Drag a dial vertically or horizontally. Use the mouse wheel for fine adjustments. Double-click a dial to restore its factory default. The blue display beside each dial shows the exact current value.

The circular display is an activity and instability monitor, not a calibrated spectrum analyser. It animates continuously, while its shape, sweep speed, colour, breakup, spectral ripples, and echo trails react to the current settings and live signal transients.
D / Spectral, space and output

Init / subtle motion
Mostly clean, with a small resonator and delay contribution. Use it to build a patch deliberately.
Aluminium insect
Fast metallic ring modulation and resonator tones for hats, percussion and effects.
Broken maths
A balanced glitch preset for drum loops and rhythmic material.
Prepared piano ghost
Long tuned resonances, reverse probability and a dark spatial tail.
Microdrum shredder
Short-grid fractures and decimation for aggressive micro-edits.
Underwater modem
Low carrier tones, filtering, delay and heavy instability.
Glass corridor
Bright resonator and long feedback space for sparse or ambient sources.
Total nervous system
The maximum-intensity showcase. Lower the track level before selecting it.
MUTATE creates a constrained variation of the effect chain belonging to the preset currently selected in the menu. The selected preset name stays visible instead of changing to a generic mutated state. Input Level and Dry / Wet remain untouched, while Output Level may vary slightly to compensate for aggressive chains.

6 / Automating Neuroloom in FL Studio
- Move the desired Neuroloom dial once.
- In FL Studio, open Tools → Last tweaked → Create automation clip.
- Edit the generated clip in the Playlist.

Best performance controls
Dry / Wet, Fracture, Body Pitch, Carrier Hz, Echo Time and Instability.
Use stepped controls carefully
Time Grid and Sample Div jump between discrete values. Make clean, intentional automation steps rather than rapid ramps.
Record safe transitions
Automate Output Level downward before increasing Body Decay or Feedback, especially on resonant source material.
7 / Troubleshooting

| Neuroloom does not appear in the DAW. | Confirm the DAW supports 64-bit Windows VST3 effects and that the complete Neuroloom.vst3 bundle is installed in a scanned VST3 folder. | Neuroloom does not appear in Pro Tools. | This is expected for the current release. Pro Tools requires AAX plug-ins, while Neuroloom is supplied as a 64-bit Windows VST3 and standalone application. |
| No fracture events are audible. | Raise Fracture, use a shorter Time Grid, keep transport playing, and feed the plugin active audio. Triggering is intentionally probabilistic. |
| The sound rings too long. | Lower Body Decay and Feedback, reduce Body Mix, then reduce Input Level. |
