Turn an electric guitar recording into a nylon performance.
If you already have a guitar take with the phrasing you want, Nylonize offers a way to reconstruct it with nylon or steel-string acoustic sounds. It analyzes a complete recording offline, so this is a production workflow rather than a live acoustic-simulator pedal.

Start with a recording you can evaluate
Use a clear guitar take and listen for overlapping notes, long effects tails or attacks that could make note boundaries ambiguous. Keep the original beside the reconstructed result. The important comparison is the melody, timing and articulation as well as the instrument colour.
The before-and-after demo below repeats the same electric-guitar phrase with Unplugged Steel and Fingerstyle Nylon. It lets you hear the reconstruction approach before committing to a workflow.
From electric take to nylon result
- Load the complete guitar recording into Nylonize. Analyze the performance before choosing the final reconstruction settings.
- Review the detected notes. Correct pitches or boundaries that do not match what you played, rather than expecting a sound preset to fix transcription errors.
- Choose a nylon instrument bank, such as Fingerstyle Nylon, and shape the reconstruction settings. The demo uses Faithful mode for its nylon section.
- Press NYLONIZE to build the result. Compare it with the original at similar listening levels.
- Rebuild after note or sound changes, then export the ready result as audio or MIDI. Keep the source take so you can revisit the conversion.
Choose conversion for the right job
This approach suits an existing recorded performance that you want to revoice for an arrangement. If you need to hear an acoustic tone immediately while playing live, offline reconstruction does not meet that requirement. If the reconstruction misses a detail, review the notes and playing articulation before rebuilding.
Nylonize is available for Windows and Apple-silicon macOS as a standalone app and VST3. The Mac build uses the legacy spectral analyzer; Basic Pitch/ONNX transcription and MP3 export are Windows-only. Check the product guide for the platform differences relevant to your session.

What to listen for
- 0:00–0:10 · Original. Hear the clean electric guitar phrase. Listen to its picking attack, sustain and phrasing.
- 0:10–0:20 · Unplugged Steel. The same excerpt, reconstructed with Nylonize’s steel-string bank in Natural mode.
- 0:20–0:30 · Fingerstyle Nylon. Hear the same excerpt with the nylon-string bank in Faithful mode.
Each section repeats the same ten-second excerpt. Converted audio was exported from activated Nylonize before the current MIDI editing update. This audio demonstration uses the original settings and timing. Playback levels are matched for a fair comparison.
Common questions
Can Nylonize process a live electric guitar input in real time?
No. It analyzes a complete recording and reconstructs the performance offline.
Can I also make a steel-string version?
Yes. The documented banks include Unplugged Steel as well as nylon options. Choose a different bank and rebuild the result before exporting.
